What the hell is this? (Zip acting up)

I've got a zip full of songs, all of which have an .all file in their folders. Now while loading up songs I noticed the file name for pretty much all of them had changed to ALL_SEQ_SONG1_K1.ALL - even for the ones that had several .ALL files in them. Does anyone have an idea what's going on/ what happened?

Have you stuck the zip in a computer? I noticed after putting some MPC zips in my Mac's zip drive then back in the MPC, they only display the first 8 or 9 characters of their names, which is all the Mac was reading......

Yeah, but I use the zips in my comp all the time and this is the first time something like this happens. Furthermore, I don't understand why the computer (or the MPC, for that matter) would go and rename only the .ALL files-- adding "K1" to the filenames... This bugs me the **** out cause all my finished songs are on this (most of them I have backups for, but...) and some .ALL files are evidently lost/ modified.

PC/MAC will cut off names longer than 8 characters.

If your ZIP is formatted in MPC you can use 16 character names.
If your ZIP is formatted in PC you should stick with 8 character names.

Your ALL's were prolly longer than 8 characters so the PC renamed them all to 8 characters. The files aren't lost they have just been renamed.

Even the files that had a name like ALL_SEQ.ALL were renamed to the K1-thing. And when PC renames stuff it's usually like ALL_SEQ~.ALL. Pretty weird though.

That's a weird one. I don't have a clue on that. hmmm.
