About your other question: When you're setting the startpoint there is no setting to 'play the sample as long as the pad is pressed'.
What you can do is:
1. Set the PLAYX option to ZONE
2. Hit F3 (znEDIT)
3. select the part you want to keep as sample but rather than using the pad use the PLAY X button (F6) to play it.
the PLAY X button play the as long as the button is pressed.
4. When you finished selecting the part hit EDIT -> choose ZONE TO NEW SAMPLE give it a new name (don't forget to hit enter after naming. Yes, thats what you get when choose to wok with old tech. Be thankful that the sample CAN have a long name and not just a number or a 5 letter name:)) and hit DO IT.

Hi, thanks for the response, but regarding my second question... I meant when I'm in screens other than the trim screen. Like on the main screen. If I hit a lengthy sample, is there any way to stop it from playing, except from just going to another menu and back?
Also, just to be clear, are you saying that if I set both pad 1 and 2 to mono, they still aren't supposed to cut each other off? If so, I misunderstood how that whole thing was supposed to work.
