Can someone Please Help!!!

Okay this is how i had my setup MPC Triton and Fantom going to a mixer
that was fine i made beats and everything was hooked up good Now i just brought a MAC and Pro Tools Rack Okay i was reading the manual like crazy stood up all night reading nothing i dont have a clue on how to hook up my stuff to the rack and get it started i took off the mixer so thats gone so now i wanna have everything the way i had it instead digi rack takes place of mixer i mean i just wanna hook this up the right way so if you guys can please share the hookup info that would be very helpful midi ones or inputs which ever makes for a good sound Thanks

all your gear outputs go into the rack inputs. Midi out, to rack midi in, midi in to rack midi out.

do i need a patch bay there's no room for all the midi's

well, youll probably need to loop the midis then.....do you use the mpc as the master? e.g. to control the triton and fantom? or do you use the triton, or the fantom as the master?

the only real reason you would want to connect the midis to the digi rack, is so that you can sync the tracks when you record or use protools as your sequencer......otherwise you would just connect the midis of the mpc, to the midis of the triton and fantom and skip the digi rack.

oh okay so leave the MPC and triton and fantom module the way it is cause i use the MPC as the master dont midi to the rack ?or should i midi to the rack from my mpc and hook the fantom and trion thru?

well. i would try to do the "thru" i have yet to figure this out though, on exactly what the settings need to be.

The reason you would want to connect it to the rack via midi, is because you can hit "record" on protools, and track out each sound individually.....assuming you dont have enough outputs for each sound.

Now if you have the 8 0uts on your mpc, and only 6 outputs on the triton, and 6 outs on the fantom, thats 20 sounds you can use for each out put.

It all depends on how many sounds you use and actually need to track.

How many tracks do you typically use? and where do each of those sounds come from?

E.G. if you sequence out a hiphop beat that uses 3 drums: kick, snare, hihat. Then a bass sound, and then a sample. Youll have a total of 5 sounds. So you dont need to midi sync because you can have a bass comming from the triton, drums from the fantom, and sample comming from either the mpc, or one of the keyboards.........thus you can just hit record on protools, and plaly on the mpc and all the tracks will sync, but you will still be able to record each sound on its own track.

but if you use more sounds then the outputs of each peice, youll have to midi sync.

hopefully i didnt confuse you. im gonna figure out the midi thru as i need to do this as well
