does MPC2000 output any midi To signify record mode ?

I want to build a ‘record light’ for my midi studio for which the mpc2000 is the centerpiece. Does mpc2000 output any midi that signals it is in record mode? I cant find anything pertaining to this in the manual. I want the message to trigger the light to turn red when I am recording.

AFAIK the MMC (MIDI machine control) can send a signal when recording but I dont know if this is implemented in the 2000. The next question would be how to convert it to something that can control a light. Shold be possible via DMX
