See thats the thing i'd buy it hook it up and go. I don't have time to buying stuff and..... Id pay for it. Ebay dudes are sellinf 3000 for like 2k to 3k. For the 8 outs, custom fix, fat pads and detail is worth it to me.

CharlesRandolph wrote:$1,500.00 for MPC 2000XL is too much for pretty make over. The only functional improvement is the card reader and they upgrade the Capacitors. The Added Ferrite AC & DC Line Filters is simple to do. Buy a 50 cent for Ferrite Cable Clip added to the AC cable.

They sell the sides: 275

Buy the skin wrap: 69

FAT PADS: 45

CharlesRandolph wrote:Good approach. Also the 2500 is still functionally improving because of JJOS. If he could implement, the ability to render stems, I'll buy a 2500 right now.

Yup. Dedicated machines for dedicated tasks. No more the ‘All in one printer scenario’. Sold the Live today and bought the Studio so I can still do some MPC specific tweeks quickly when in plugin mode.

That's true when it comes to buying each piece. However, the MPC 2000XL is super easy to open up and upgrade. As for those MPC 3000, at that price they'll be there, long enough for Behinger to clone them. But, still $1500 for a MPC 2000XL with 8 outs in 2020?

Why not the Renaissance?

Plus I want to be (partly) mobile. Once I have layed down the basic loop(s) inside the 2500, I can add stuff and finish with my Macbook, MPK Mini and the Studio. I am a lot of times at my girls’ house, so dragging around a bigger MPC would be far from practicle.

Well you know what that means.

1. Get rid of the Girl.
2. Stay at home.
3. Dedicate your life to the machine.
4. Only come out for food and restroom.
5. Sleep is for cowards.

or

1. Second setup at your girls.
2. Tell her, its so you can spend more time with her.
3. You laugh, your MPC laugh,
4. She wonders how is your MPC laughing.

That’s easy. It’s a sample.

I think I am the only person who crinches by the sight of wooden customizations. Saw two 3000’s up for sale today, clicked on the auction to check them out. Not that I am in the market for one, but just to drool over the pics of what in my opinion is the best looking MPC. Both had wooden side panels and arm rest :vomit: Clicked them away as if I clicked on kiddy porn by accident. This XL is the only instrument on which I think it looks nice.

Its not just the regular MPC2000XL and you know it.

About the price if it had those modern things as l asked l would pay the price and not **** about or be quiet.

Look how many people said the Live is over priced?

When l want something l just get it.

No doubt and I understand. But make no mistake it's a regular MPC 2000XL with 8 out card and card reader.

We both live in the centre of Amsterdam. Houses are small over here, and space is always an issue. So my second setup is basically the laptop. I hoped the Live could be my ‘side MPC’, but that didn’t work out. Even the Live as controller next to my laptop already takes up too much space. Finding a new place together in Amsterdam for more space is impossible, prices for houses are extremely high. It’s like we both live in Manhattan, but if we move we can only maybe afford us a place in Jersey or Long Island.

That is the reason l said l wish it had the tech of the Live. As of now the aesthetics looks wonderful TO ME! No doubt that dam sequencer is tight!

I feel bad... I actually do NOT like the look. To be fair, I'm not a fan of the look of the Live - black with red trim is "meh" to me as a design aesthetic, but I also prefer my stuff looking different from everyone elese's, I love unique and bespoken looks, the closer to "manufactured" a product looks, the less interesting it looks to me. I'm "eh" about wood as well, it CAN look good, but often fills thrown in just to say that it has wood.

Give me a primary color as a base, and then we can talk. Give me a 100% red MPC Live - red pads, red metal, etc. Then I'll get excited. Won't happen, its too extreme, but *shrug* got to rep where I am from - we like strong colors.

I was >this< close to getting red qlink knobs, red rotary knob & red pads. Then Tutor swapped the textured qlink knobs for smooth ones. And I saw a vid changing the pads on the Live. It's gotten more complicated than earlier MPCs.

I like contrast. A red Live would be tight, but I'd probably do black or gray everything against it.
