external cd for 2000 xl

i just connected an ibm external cd player to my 2000xl thru the scsi drive..but whan i try to save the beats it says "scsi not ready ! "
...what do i need to do to fix this....i have no clue..thanks

SCSI CD Player? I don't understand. I assume you mean CD ROM drive. In which case, is R.ead O.nly M.emory. You can't save to it, only read from it.

The SCSI not ready message could be for a number of reasons. Are you sure its compatible with the MP?
