i was lookin on ebay for a SCSI hd for my 2kxl. I cam to thinkin, if i bought a scsi external hd case and then went on to buy lets say a 35 gb scsi hd and install it in the case, would it work on the MPC? let me know if any of you have tried to do this, thanks

No it will not work cause it doesn't support 35 GB. Get a 18 GB drive and your set. You don't need anything over 9 GB in my opinion.

Damn, I wish I had 35GB worth of samples!

Seriously though, I have a few hard drives that are like 500mb, 1GB, 2 GB. How easy is it to format them for the MPC? Is it the same as formatting a Zip disk?

It will work, it just wont recognise the extra space over xxGB - the exact number I'm not sure, as Akai seem to increase this number every couple of months - it started off at 4.5GB.
