Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi fellas. Lately I have explored different techniques through the Note Repeat + pad function to achieve this type of Snare Roll:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY1kK569ddo?t=19 (20 second)

However, I don't get the desired results; They sound uneven and do not fit in the tempo. I would like to know if they have any tips or tips to create this type of Snare Rolls. Thank you!

I think that is just the swing of the sp. I could tell from the first video it was made on the sp, and then I clicked the other links.

Try messing with your swing settings.

Some dope beats you posted by the way.

That is not a snare roll. Wrong terminology.

It’s just banging on the pads with swing. Try swing =70, timing OFF.

I can guarantee you will not get it the first 5 times, but keep going and you will
end up getting those same pad bangs. If it seems to hard take the timing down to 1\16(3).
KEEP TRYING, don’t give up and you’ll get there.

I have sat a lot of hours practicing at akai. Gradually I have noticed improvements. It really is one of my favorite functions of the 2000xl.

Thanks bro, this forum is gold, I have been learning many new things

Yeah, those pad bangs aren’t difficult. It’s just experimenting with swing, timing and your own rhythm. Keep going, you’ll notice you get better and better the more you practice and experiment with diff settings..

Correct, I should have clarified/added I start with timing, get close to what I want, turn off TC and nudge/add/remove ticks to get what I want.
