I'm sorry because I have the 8 outs, so I've never had to look into this...but can't you split sounds with the stereo out? It's only 2 outs, but you can at least pan your kick to one side and everything else to the other. Kick & snare out of one, hats & percussion on other. Drums one out, samples on other. Panning amongst the L/R channels gives you 2 outs...but that's one more than you currently have.
I mean, I'll be honest: even though I have the 8 outs and plenty of mixer space, I still just mostly run everything out of the headphone jack together.
*Most importantly though* I pull from a bank of samples that I did some compression/limiting/eqing on all as I was sampling into & building up those banks, so all my drum samples I load up sit well with each other.
