Hookin' up another beat machine to the mpc 2000xl......

Wud up everybody, I just purchased an MPC 2000xl last week and I am still new to the whole MPC thing, so I ain't too sure what I could and can't do. But I already have this one beat machine it's an EMU MP-7 Command Station and I wanted to know if I could hook up the Mp-7 into the MPC to sample sounds such as precussions, strings, etc. off the Mp-7 into the MPC2000xl when creating a beat....if so, then what would I need to make this possible, I was thinking maybe just the MIDI pluges, but then I ain't too sure. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME OUT!.........Oh yeah..I have another question: How does the 8 output expansion benefit me when it comes to making beats off of sampling from CD's/ Cd-ROM/ Vinyl...is it neccessarly needed right now to make and fully complete a beat inside the MPC itself?(MIXING TRACKS/ SEQUENCING/ SONG FORMATTING)...or NOT?

Read that book u got with the MPC....You'l see that some of ur questions dont make sense

As to the first question:
The logical procedure would be to sync both units via MIDI. Mix the outputs with an external mixer.

As to the second question:
The seperate outputs. What are they for? Remember they are OUTputs. Would they do anything to help "make and fully complete a beat INSIDE the MPC itself", or would they serve a different purpose? Take your time.

You have ALOT of XL book reading to do. You just got off the train didn't u?

use midi and set your channels correctly, you'll be able to hit the mpc pads to hear and sequence those sounds on the mpc BUT you have to have both the mpc main outs and the mp7 main outs goin into the ins of a mixer in order to hear it all at the same time, the 8 outs are used to record 8 tracks at the same time to a multi track recorder to get recording time done much faster, but i say you should read your mpc manual now, and after a while leave it in your bathroom.
