Help please - All buttons not working on my 2KXL

Hi first post here,
I was replacing the tact switches under the cursor on my 2000xl, I powered it back on after I resolve red everything and now none of the buttons work, the lights on buttons rec, play etc.. all turn on when I turn the machine on, but none of the buttons are working. I tried restarting it a few times and one time everything worked, then it stopped working again. I have no idea what’s going on. Any advice would be much appreciated

Check the connector that between the main board and button input board. The very thin one. If you removed is VERY hard to put back on right as you can bend some of the pins out of place but it will still click in and feel like its in. You take the cable back off and see you squished the pins. Thats what happened to me.
