Is there any way of taking music made on the xl and playing on the 2000? I did a track on my friend's 2000xl and when I try to load it on the 2000 it says "newer OS required". Will a 2000 OS upgrade solve this or am I screwed...

I know you can play stuff created on the 2000 on both machines...the question is, can you take stuff created and saved using the xl and play it on the 2000? I believe the answer is no, but any enlightenment would be appreciated...thankx

Yes, I believe so - make sure the sounds are in SND format (wavs only load individually), dont use folders, use less than 128 samples and less than 100,000 sequencer notes. Perhaps there are other limitations, but I think that's the main ones.

I've gone 2000 to xl with no problems. In terms of xl to 2000 I've gotten that same "newer OS needed" screen. I don't remember too clearly (this was a few years back) but I think I updated the 2000 os and things worked fine. Give it a try.
