what kind of floppy drives work in the 2kl?

Hi!

I bought my MPC with the built-in compact flash drive, however it has given me some problems when saving. So I will install a floppy drive.

It would be of great help to me to know if the typical floppy drives of old computers work in the MPC, or what should be taken into account for this. Thank you very much for your help!

Fix the problem that you're having with the CF card reader on your XL.

99% of the issues that happen with those drives pertain to the CF card itself, not the reader.

To answer OP's question, MPC-2000 (XL) is not picky about floppy drive. Any working floppy drive with floppy disk port would work with MPC-2000.
Like Riche stated, make sure to use compatible CF card, I only use genuine SunDisk CF cards with my 2000XL.

Hi bro! Thanks for your help. I found that the teeth of the ATAPI connector that tighten the slot are very loose. This prevents the CF Drive cable from connecting properly.

I tried to fix it by filling the gap between the connector and the clips with a rubber, but when I press on the PADS it comes loose again. It gives me enough problems when it comes to saving. So I would like to temporarily switch to a floppy drive, as it is the most economical solution I have at the moment, but I had never used a floppy drive in the mpc, so I don't know if the connection system of the old computers (cables and floppy drive) are compatible with the akai board.

The teeth of the ATAPI connectors are damaged, bro. So I try to find out if an old PC floppy drive works for me, as a workaround.

So, the connections and cables of the MPC are the same, with respect to most older computers?
They are also offering me a CPU with a Zip drive, but I suppose the same thing happens with the floppy drive; that is, are they compatible with the 2kl?

Which CF card reader do you have?

The most common ATAPI/IDE ones can have the internals replaced for $5.
