well said /\ cosign, alot of newbies I met forget to connect the ground(which is so important to prevent unwanted noise and hiss in your signals) and also some of the more expensive DJ mixers may not have rca outs or in addition to having rca may already have the 1/4 inch jacks or even XLR or multiple outs. I always sound check and experiment to see which output sounds better or different. sometimes I do crazy ish like sample from my headphone out from the mixer to use the unique headphone tone control to shape my sample or use the amp out instead of the rec out to get a buzzier warmer sound, its always case by case but I usually have a prefered out when I know I wanna just take a clean sample. so you may may need a different cable but in theory everything elevatedsoul stated was true, open your ears and watch your levels
