Pad Fault??

Hi, I have a problem,

On my MPC 2000xl Pad 10 & 11 cannot be seperated...If I load a sample into one...it atomatically goes into the other too.....

If I press pad 10 to use to write the letter S....it comes out on my screen as SU...press it again SUSU

I thought it might just be the MPC needs an OS update...but Ive installed that now and its still the same....its been like it since I bought it...Its an ex-display but its in mint condition...

Im starting to think it might be an internal problem....

Has anyone got any ideas?

everytime i hear something about pads I see someone say there's a problem with the sensors. which of course is internal.

not sure about this one though...

While I was repainting my MPC I accidentaly pulled put the ribbon that's connected to the pads. I figured I was flowers so I started messin' with it just to see what exactly had happened . Turns out that the ribbon is held in place by a black bracket of some kind that clamps down on the ribbon. If you pull the top part of the bracket to the right it loosens the grip on the ribbon, I just slid the ribbon back in place and adjusted it, at first only some of the pads responded so I continued to adjust until all pads functioned correctly, pushed the bracket back to the left and tugged on the ribbon lightly to make sure it was snug and no problem since.

The point of all this is............... you might wanna try openin' up your MPC and adjusting the ribbon(cable, whatever the hell it's called) to see if it solves your problem.
