internal 250 zip bug

Ive recently installed a 100mb internal zip drive in my 2000XL, it worked fine. Now, i switched the 100mb drive for a 250mb one (both Iomega). Now something strange is happening with this drive: if i turn the mpc on with a disk inserted in the drive this error apears - Error at 0000:BFF2 .
Ive to turn the mpc on without the disk in, then i insert it and press f1-load in the load menu, sometimes it works some dont.. its annoying cause ive to turn the mpc off/on 3 or 4 times before it works.
I havent tried the new beat version of the os that fixes some zip issues, perhaps it can solve this.

Hey guys, this thread definitely needs to go into the history books. I think this is the first thread I've seen someone start to ask a question but gave themselves the answer before they could finish asking it.

Again this is a known bug in the mpc.. Search the forum and you will find the answer. Aside from installing the new OS (as you suggested earlier), I've heard of people removing the drive, down grading their OS and then re-installing the drive and then upgrading the OS again. I myself have never experience this problem so I can't really say what works or not. Find out what others have done and go from there. There is also the option of an external zip drive (which I have) but if your like me I doubt you want to spend any more money on your mpc.

heh, that was just a thought, i didnt want to install the new os without knowing if that solve the ptob. Nice to know that the new os can solve this issue.. too bad i didnt install the beta os in the zip disk from the pc before installed it in the mpc. ill give more feedback on this if i get it solved.

Happens to the best of us... You already had the answer yourself you just needed to do a little research. Have more faith in yourself next time; you’re not stupid (which is alot more than I can say about some other heads on this forum). If your stuck that's where we come in..

Sometimes I wonder if people really get that or they just come here first wondering how to connect their mpc to a stereo system..

I don't mean to judge but come on.. you spend how much on a piece of audio equipment you know nothing about? I know that what ever I purchase I make informed decisions before I jump the boat. I'd hate to see these people when a sales man comes to their door with a "better" vacuum cleaner.

Anybody have solved this problem yet? im not sure if i should downgrade the OS from 1.14 to the 1.12 ... it is very annoying to have to restart the machine 5, 6 or more times till the zip drive start workin.
