Can someone please help me out? I just copped a motu 2x2 midi interface so I can record my mpc tracks onto protools.I hooked it all up correctly so it plays and stops on command.but its slightly off at the begining of all my tracks.it records late or something.can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Give a couple bar buffer to let it sync and see if that helps any.

I think the latency on the MBox and Digi001 is 128 or 164 msecs off time.
There are a few posts about it on the Digidesign User Conference.

Peace.

mine does the same thing when i sync it with logic, all i do is make DEAD sequence with nothing on it but have it the same bpm as the song, then insert that sequence in the beginning of the song and it will be a lil late when recording but when the beat kicks in everything will get recorded

I still can't figure this out its driving me crazy!!!!! I've been at this since friday.could it be my midi interface? My midi settings? I've tried evrything and still can't fix the delay.someone out there gotta know how to do this.I'm using an mbox 6.1 xp motu2x2 fastlane mpc2000xl.I think homershines is right on point, but I don't know how to preroll or offset.

Are you using Midi Beat Clock of Midi Time Clock to sync them?

Have you added a blank bar or two, previous to the start of the song to allow everything to catch up?

If so, and it's still off, you may wanna try one song and cut off 128 or 164 ms from the start and see if it works.

Again, do some more research at the Digidesign site for the best info.

Peace.

Alright guys I finally figured it out.this is what I did....I set it up using midi clock, then I started messing around with the buffer rate on the playback engine.128 samples buffer size works....thanx for your time.
