If you've got a soundcard with 1 midi in and 1 midi out, simply connect the midi in of the soundcard to the midi out of the mpc, and the midi out of the soundcard to the midi in of the mpc. If your soundcard as just a joystick plug, you've got to buy a cable to adapt the joystick plug with 2 midi plugs (one in and one out).
Then on the mpc choose the right midi out (a or b depending on where you plugged the cable) and the right channel (1-16). On your sequencer
choose a midi track and check the right channel too. If you just want to record the audio of the mpc in the sequencer, choose an audio track and set a midi sync between the pc and the mpc. If the pc is set as master, choose "send midi clock" in the sequencer and "receive midi clock" in the mpc. I've never used cakewalk but it works well in cubase tough.

if you just want to get your song into cakewalk, just take your floppy disk and save your seq (midi file) onto it and load it into cakewalk. set cakewalk to send them midi out and mpc to receive and you can then play/edit your sequence right from cakewalk.
