Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have about 60 mbs left on my Zip disk, but I get an "insufficient disk space" message when i try to save my beat (no more than a couple mb's!)

Does the MPC not read/write past 40 MBs? What can I do?

You cant have more than 500 files in any one partition. Once this limit is reached, you'll the get the error you mention. This is a limitation of the FAT file system, not the MPC.

Should I create 2 partitions on my Zip disk and split files into the 2 partitions? How would YOU deal with this problem? Thanks for quick reply.

Yes, but remember that creating the partitions will wipe the data off the disk. You'll need to transfer your files to an already partitioned disk. One way of doing this is to load 32MB into memory, put in the blank disk and save to this.
