Depends what you want to do. If you do your sampling & editing on the computer but then put those in the MPC & do all your sequencing with the MPC you don't necessarily need any connection. You need a way to get the samples from the computer into the MPC though. If both the MPC & the computer have a floppy drive that might be all you need, although obviously zip drives are faster.
With the midiman 2x2 you can sync the MPC to Acid or Acid to the MPC.
You might want audio cables between the two machines to sample from one to the other.

ok ok. you'll have to open your mpc. grab the big cord, if it doesnt come out pull harder. grab a few more wires for good luck. Jam them into the printer port on the back on the computer and hit play. viola..
