Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi there

I'm having a Problem on my MPC2000Classic.
I'm using a Cardreader and MPC Editor V3 to load the Samples to the Banks and save it as Programs.
This worked fine the 2 Months i have the Cardreader, but today I have Troubles, the Samples sound fine in MPC Editor, but loaded as PRG into the MPC2000 the Samples are to fast, pitched up. I tryed it several Times on different Banks. The MPC was shut down and new booted everytime...so it's not the Note Variation Slider.
The SD Card was formated also everytime before I tryed again.

What could be the Problem? :( :?:

check theFAQ lower down the page:

"Pitch is turned up an octave" - This is a known issue with some(?) Stereo Wav Files. Please convert the problematic wav files to mono until the fix is released.

It's fair to say that a fix is not coming, that software was abandoned years ago.

Try converting the original WAV files using wav2SND instead of MPCEditor, I've not yet experienced any issues with this.

Just use MPCeditor to create the PGM file only and save it to the folder where the separately converted SND files are.

Thanx MPC-Tutor

I will give wav2SND a Try.
it's a bummer since the MPC Editor is a very simple but easy and fast to work with Program...

PS: and it's not only 1 Octave too high, more like 200% pitched up.

I just converted the Wavs with Awave Studio to SND and added the previous created PGM file to the Batch.
Works perfectly just like You said.

Thank You!

Yes, 44100 Hz 16bits in PCM uncompressed and the well known problem of 8 Letters/numbers max. Filenames.
Beside that, the MPC Classic is still a very nice Sampler.
