mpc2000xl and korg triton

hello all, i am a newbie with the mpc, but i acquired one in a deal that i just couldn't pass up, now on to my problem, i am using the sequencer on the mpc, and the sounds from my triton, (etc mid track a-1 in the mpc, midi track 1 in the triton) everything works fine like a perfect marriage until i use the mixer in the triton to lower certain tracks, everytime i lower any mixer tab in the triton, it turns down all the sounds in the mpc, and i would turn the sounds down in the mpc, but i have only been able to turn them down when i sample and assign a sound to a pad, and using midi i haven't assigned anything to a pad, the way i do it is sample all my drums and percussions, etc, and play all my melodies on the keyboard, and record them all in the mpc sequencer, i hope this is enough information.......thanks in advance for all ur help.......

use the velocity on the track that has the triton sound and turn it down there

on the mpc not the triton
