MIDI IN/OUT, SYNC, CONTROL - HELP!!!

Hi Guys,
I've recently bought an MPC2000XL, I am very experienced in MIDI applications, and functions, but can't seem to figure this one out.

I am trying to control my EMU Sound module, with a MIDI keyboard, going through the MPC, using the MPC as a sequencer. I am going out of my keyboard, into the MPC and out of the MPC into the EMU.

I have tried to fix the settings as per the manual, but I can't get the right things controlling the right sounds. I have had the keyboard controlling the MPC, the MPC controlling the Sound Module, the keyboard controlling both the MPC and the sound module. But I cannot get the keyboard to play just the sound module through the MPC.

Please help!!!

Make sure the current track in the sequence on the MAIN SCREEN of your MPC is scrolled to MIDI, not DRUM. (Bottom left corner.) Also make sure it is set to the midi channel number of the sound you want to play on your EMU module, & that it is set to the correct midi out, A or B.

i'm quite sure all of that is already done. but i cannot get the keyboard to control the emu, only the mpc pads control the emu, and when i play the keyboard i hear the mpc as well as the emu...

If you are hearing both the MPC & EMU you have got your midi channels right, but (unless there is something seriously wrong with your MPC) you probably have not switched the track from DRUM to MIDI. (Bottom left corner of MAIN SCREEN.)
