If the mpc is midi-ed up to the yamaha you STILL need to have the audio out of the yamaha hooked into the mixer if you want to hear it.

Without knowing your present set up or what you might want to add later , it would be dkifficult to tell you the perfect mixer for you.
My suggestion would be to get an idea of exactly how big you're gonna eventually try to make your set up.
If all you're ever gonna use is the yamaha and the mpc , then I would count how many outputs each has and then get a mixer that can accept that many plus two more.
That's assuming that you have the 8 outs installed or that you're gonna get them.
$600 is a decent amount of money and there are many mixers in that price range.
The reason why you should consider your future studio plans is because , let's say you buy a mixer now that has just enough inouts for the yamaha and mpc , well what about if you somehow get more equipment later?
You wont be able to run it through the mixer without changing things up.
Spend some time considering this and then get a mixer that will allow you to add things later instead of grabbing something that will limit you in the future.
Almost any mixer will be able to link up with the computers soundcard.
Just make certain that you get the right wires / jacks , for the job.
You can peep www.musiciansfriend.com to get some mixer ideas.

You should also note that using a RM1X as a sound module is far more difficult than it should be. You might be better off sampling the RM1x into the MPC.
