MPC question reverbing

Can you guys help me. I have a MPC2000xl with a roland xp-80. I have it hook up and everything but when I go to recording it sound like the mpc has put a little reverb on my sounds that I play through the keyboard can you please help me with this, and no I don't have the mpc effect thingy

You probably are playing two of the same sounds at once.

its not that Iam not even recording it just when I power up my mpc and turn on my keyboard I hear the effect but as soon as I turn my mpc off its gone. HELP

it sounds like you are triggering the sounds twice. maybe you have a midi loop in which you hit the key and it sends the note into the mpc sequencer (for recording) but also soft thru's it back into the roland triggering the sound twice for each time you hit a key.
