From what I have experienced, it just does the same thing as if you went into the paramaters screen and changed the pitch I believe of a sound. I'm probably sure there is more to it than just that.

Word on the velocity wish, elmacaco. That's one of the main things that irked me as I was learning the MPC. I figured it MUST effect velocity. That was actually the first use I'd wanted to make of it. I'm sure it'd be simple for them to modify the OS to integrate that as a feature, it's a simple numerical tweak just like the repitching, etc.

I think I read somewhere that the Linn 9000 does velocit with a slider, and after the sequence is recorded too. Not sure if it's true, but I am not about to get a 9000 for this feature.
