Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

how does one use the note variation slider.....broad question, but I havent really integrated this tool into my production...

From what I have experienced, it just does the same thing as if you went into the paramaters screen and changed the pitch I believe of a sound. I'm probably sure there is more to it than just that.

pitch, decay, attack, probably more (I wish it did velocity after)

you can assign it to a sound and press the after button and it can retune or change the decay on sounds that are already sequenced.

Word on the velocity wish, elmacaco. That's one of the main things that irked me as I was learning the MPC. I figured it MUST effect velocity. That was actually the first use I'd wanted to make of it. I'm sure it'd be simple for them to modify the OS to integrate that as a feature, it's a simple numerical tweak just like the repitching, etc.

I think I read somewhere that the Linn 9000 does velocit with a slider, and after the sequence is recorded too. Not sure if it's true, but I am not about to get a 9000 for this feature.
