Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey everyone! I think there is something wrong with my MPCs power supply because after I soldered some new parts (New Slider and Memory Jog) the light started to flash and make a clicking sound. The MPC worked well and powered on when I got it in the mail.

The 2000XL I got wasn't in the best shape plus the inside the was filthy with dust when I got it so that may be why. Any recommendations? Where could I buy a new power component? I'm new to 2000xl and MPCs in general. Thanks!!

(here is a video of the problem)

Looks like a short somewhere. inspect the wheel and slider solder points. Did you by accident remove the 2 unused solder joints on one side of the sliders solder joints? Did you accidently reversed the slider? (There are four through holes on each side of the slider, 2 are closed up by factory.). Make some detailed pictures of the areas.

Did you disconnect the whole upper board or did u just flipped it over?

Hey! Sorry for the late response, After doing some more checks I realized the clicking sounds came from the power supply. I saw another post https://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=208674 and he had the same issue as mine, so I'm going to buy a new power supply from Sager Electronics that the other forum post recommended. https://power.sager.com/snp-9541-m1-3985291.html

Before getting a new PSU carefully double-check if you didn‘t short anything by soldering.
A clicking sound may indicate a short: the PSU shuts itself off when it detects too much current, then goes on again, senses too much current and the cycle repeats ad infinitum. ;)
