Just recently, with no software change on my end, my MAC began reading my Zip disks improperly. Any time I save multiple samples with similar names, it only recognizes 1 of the files on the Mac. For example, on the 2000xl I’ll save 4 samples (Marvin1, Marvin2, Marvin3, etc) but when I load the Zip disk on mY MAC, it only recognizes “Marvin1” and the other samples don’t even appear. I have been saving samples like this for a long time so I’m confused where the error is occurring. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe the reader is going bad.
Move away from Zip disks and get an mcd in there.
Usb floppy adapter (gotec).

Heard that good sir. I was thinking that may have been the case. I have a CF drive too, just haven’t been up to the daunting task of taking her apart. But alas……

There is a standard IDE/ATAPI 40pin ide connector on the motherboard.
Not even a problem.

I had stopped using floppies, zips maybe 1yr fter getting my 2kxlse2 (orange). Opened it up, placed an atapi (hot swap)7 in 1 mcd in there and never looked back. I only used the cf slot tho.

IDE is not hot swap, same connector as ATAPI.
