Install Floppy Disk Drive (Insert MPC2000XL Disk!)

My MPC2000XL broke like a month ago. It had to do something with the power supply, fortunately i was managed to get it fixed by somebody, however since it has been fixed it's lost his operating system and everytime i try to power it up a message pops up on the screen that says: ''Insert MPC2000XL Disk!''. I have a Compact Flash card drive installed in my MPC2000XL and i've been told to get an original floppy drive that those machines originally runned on, get a floppy disk and an USB to floppy disk adapter, download the Operating System on the floppy, then install it on my MPC and then install the compact flashcard reader back. However i don't know which floppy drive i need, when i try to search for one there are so many different types and some of them are much more expensive then the other i just don't know which one is the right one. I also don't know which operating system i need to donwload, because when i try to look it up, you have like 4 different ones.

Does anyone know if my plan will fix my MPC. If yes, could somebody please help me with the floppy drive and operating system problem?
