Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I haven't tried this personally yet, but the ZULU IDE card reader from White Rabbit Computing looks like it is compatible with the MPC 2000XL (as the MPC 2000XL supports ATAPI) and it is hot swappable.

Info from the Manufacturer: https://forum.vcfed.org/index.php?threa ... r.1247518/

Buy here: https://shop.rabbitholecomputing.com/pr ... 40-compact

If your MPC 2000XL does not have a card reader yet, I suggest that you buy this.

Peace Zach,

Purchase the Zulu SCSI, no the IDE for double the price.

The purpose of the IDE is to emulate an ATAPI CD ROM.

The purpose of the SCSI is to emulate multiple SCSI hard drives and is far better suited technically for the amount of data you can write to it, administer and use the AKAI partition structure if you felt like downgrading the XL to 1.14 instead of running 1.20.

Also if you felt like it and had an Akai sample CD iso, you could actually mount it to one of the random partition numbers you want on the SCSI as well, which then covers what the IDE can do but with all the other writing partition options.

With the IDE, you can't do none of what I listed above. It's pointless to have for the XL or any sampler.
