Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

peace guys

I was looking to consolidate old CF cards from the 2000xl onto a bigger card for the 2500 I picked up recently.

I have a cf card reader attachment for my Mac, loaded it up awhile ago hoping to drag and drop to the bigger card but only the A partition was visible on the Mac. Couldn't see a way to access the other partitions anywhere.

I had already dumped a lot of that stuff into Logic or Pro Tools so I don't actively use those cards but I just got a USB Zip disk drive and figured I try again by loading in the 2000xl > save to Zip disk > usb drive to Mac

When I go to the load screen, the folders that were on the A partition are there but the type now says 'PC'.

I reformatted a blank cf card to try and recreate the steps but even after loading it on the Mac the type still says "MPC2000XL" and the partitions are accessible when I put it back in the 2000xl.

I can see by the storage available that the old card is still full but can't access the partition.

The only guess left is that when I originally loaded the cf card on my Mac the OS was older/different so it changed something on the card.

Anyone else ever dealt with this or have ideas?
I've already accepted that this is what it is but worth a shot.

If you take a MPC2000XL card that is multi partitioned (the Akai format before they went FAT) and put it in a computer, you will end up corrupting all the other partitions.

It is normal that only the A partition is visible as that partition is FAT format from what I recall, you won't see the rest of the partitions as its a specific Akai format.
