I'm an XL owner. I've been using an external zip drive 100 for file storage, and i've had a couple of discs that died on me ( good bye beats)
So, now I'm considering an external hard drive instead.
My questions would be

1. What model and how large of a gigabyte should i get?
2. Do they still sell brand new external (scsi) hard drives?
3. Does any of you all use an external scsi hard drive for the mpc
4. Is conecting it just a matter of hookin up 1 end of the male scsi cable to the mpc then the other to hard drive

thanks.

I have an XL too. I never had a Zip drive though, I went straight for the HD. I got a 4 GB one. A very good site to get this kind of stuff is www.scsiforsamplers.com. I don't know if they are brand new from that site but they may as well be.

Yes, connecting it is easy just like you said.
