How To open MPC2000xl Projects,In MPC X

I’ve Had The MPC-X for about 8 years and I’ve been trying to convert my old MPC 2000xl Sessions Over to the new MPC SOFTWARE Format. The 2000xl Sessions were originally created on 2000xl and Saved To The Iomega 100Mb Zip Disk Format Via 52 Pin SCSI ZIP DRIVE.

I’ve Heard Somewhere that it can be done with a USB ZIP DRIVE but when I tried it, all I saw in the MPC X Project load Window was Random Letters and numbers and NO DATA could be Played.

1) Does anyone have any extensive knowledge to share on this process?

PLEASE SHARE THE STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS.

Projects originally created on 2kxl, I’ve loaded many directly to MPC X and MPC Keey61.2kxl


On 2kxl I (sold it but still have hundreds of og 2kxl projects on computer) had a mcd and my projects were on sd cards.

I placed that sd card into mpc x, loaded APS (all programs and sounds), the project was loaded. Be aware that only programs, seqs, pad assignments will load, NOTHING else will convert over as it’s just way to different of an os/firmware.

Your equivalent to my 2kxl sd cards I’m thinking is a USB zip drive (if drivers are required, shouldn’t be, then it wont work directly) connected to the back of the mpc. If that doesn’t work directly then go the route Tutor advised above. That will definitiley work (I’ve done it that way also).
