i have the 2000xl, motif rack, fantom xr, and 002 rack. i went out and bought the midisport 4x4 because i would like both modules to have 16 channels each. my problem is that the only way i get sounds is if i go from the modules directly into the 2000xl. then both of my outs are taken so i cant link the mpc to the 002. i figured that the 4x4 would solve that problem but i just cant figure it out.

Isn't that midiman interface for a computer? I don't think it will work as a midi splitter box which is what I think you will need.

I've got a couple of midi splitter boxes made by a UK company, Philip Rees. One is on MPC out A & the other on B. They divide the single midi output socket into four new output sockets, but they don't increase the amount of midi channels I can use. What they do is mean I don't have to daisy chain so much equipment using midi thru sockets.

So, if you got a box like this you could have both your motif & fantom played by the MPC from one midi out, but you could not have a sounds on the same midi channels on both synths unless you wanted them playing the same line.
