WHY won't a sample stop playing when i let go of the pad????

i want to make it so that as soon as i let go a pad, the sample stops playing. this question is referring to the standard 2000


PLEASE HELP!!

press shift+program, select the program you want to edit, press the 'params' f-key, select the note/sound you want to change, and set 'voice overlap' to 'note off'

(i have an -xl, but i suspect the same commands apply)

Or loop your sample - this will also have the same effect
