Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have a question for everyone. Can I save all of my sounds, programs & songs using a CD burner connected to my MPC2000xl via scsi? I'll probably try to find an external CD burner and chain it with my external zip. I figured I could save loads of space and really get organized by saving all info related to a particular song on a single CD. Save my .all & .aps on a single Cd & store it away.

Can this be done? Please get back to me.

No ........ you would need a driver for the MPC to operate the burner & this does not exist. If you can get your MPC data onto a computer you can then burn it to CD that way. If you already have this SCSI CD burner you can probably use it just as a CD ROM drive on the MPC to read the CDs you make on the computer.

Yo Featherboy,

Thanks for your input. I don't have the CD rom, but was hoping to find one.

Here's another question: Can I hook the MPC up to a PC directly and store everything on the PC's harddrive while using this PC as my everyday computer? Let me know.

I realize that if I wanted to track my songs I'd have to play them out of the MPC2KXL.

Thanks again.
