Drum Assignment

How do I get the drums to hit when I wnt them to in accordance with the melody, instead of it syncing with the timing (tempo), for instance if I want a kick to hit off beat?

move the cursor to the part on the main screen that says "timing" and switch it to OFF. This sets the sequencer to have no quantization, or a tempo grid that it locks notes to.

You can now make your beats however you want, off beat or not. I usually work with the timing off as well, it takes some more work, but the end result is pretty cool.
