whats it look like...thats the most important thing.
really i think someone might want a custom one..but in your ebay acution, give good pictures, really good ones so that they can see it exactly. If it looks "good" but plain still, someone will want it. If it has graffiti and stickers, and some goofy logo, chances are you wont sell it. So i would at least get it a solid plain good looking color-like black, silver, blue. Sparkly custom model paint would also look good.
you could also reivest and buy a stock case for around $75 add the custom one in a package deal, so the owner can customize themselves; this can actually boost your price! like wow fully loaded mpc2xl, plus i can paint it myself! (give pictures with the normal case on) Or you can keep the custom case for sentimental reasons and hang it on your studio wall.
be honest in your auction. Let them know you customized it because you love your mpc...you took good care of it. But now need to move to bigger and better. I wouldnt offer to paint it for them with out being more specific..what happens if someone requests something goofy? like i want blah blah. and you wont be able to meet their demands?
also try to get letters for it. I mean, even if you have to apply decals, and get them printed up. They do sell quality sticker decals that would look professional, but that will take some research.
with no letters, only experienced mpc users would want it. So maybe offer it as "an alternative to forat.com" cheaper way to get a custom mpc.
If you can get letters and paint it a nice classic color....i really dont think youll have a problem selling it...sell it as a special edition mpc...not a custom mpc; custom to me sounds like a "rigged" or "modified" which means potential mechanical problems. But if you say its "special" it seems like those limited edition mpc2xls-that everone would like.
have confidence in your special mpc....if you price it high, to above average cheap deal, you will sell it better...you want the buyer to think that its not a piece of junk....if you start low, it seems as if you are getting rid of it because you **** it up! You didnt **** anything up! right! all that time and engergy is worth something; its one of a kind, so that adds value.
i think you can get 1200-1400+ for it. plain mpc2xl are going for 900-1100 on ebay now. Yours is loaded. and its "special edition". If you offer a package deal with a custom case and an original case, you can easily get like 1500+-all the work is done....forat is worth 500+ bucks.
peace good luck.
