Studio time... What do I need to bring with me?

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone can help me out with a few questions. I'm working in our studio now with an Akai 2kxl, a few keyboards, and a PC. I have been sequencing all of my songs on the akai
including midi sequences from the keyboards. My question is: Will I be able to know for sure if my midi sequences will co-op will different keyboards, and if so will they still have filter and fx tweaking? Is it a good thing to convert and bring aiff files of the synths? I also read something about listing the places where you ripped all of your individual drums, loops, and samples... It's my first time going to work in a serious studio. I'd just like to be prepared. Thanks for the tips-

Your midi sequences will play the notes on other keyboards but you cannot guarantee that things like filter tweaks will work exactly the same way. They might not at all if it is sys-ex data. It is a good idea to find out exactly what equipment they have got because even something like a piano sound you have on a keyboard or module of your own which is perfect for your track might not be perfectly matched by whatever piano sounds they have. Even if they have the same instrument their re-programming of a particular patch might be very different from your own.

If there is a bit of your kit that is essential to your sound ask if there is room for you to bring that along.

Bringing long samples of your synth sounds could help them make a close match on their gear, or could be used instead of midi sequences so it is probably worth doing that.

A record label might want to know all your sample sources but you don't need that information for a recording studio.
