I'm planning on buying a HD for my MPC. But I have some confusion on the issue.

Here's my dilemma;

I trust MPC-tutor's opinion, obviously lots of experience.

He states:

What about SCSI hard drives?
The XL can take up to 4.5GB in size (although some report it can take as much as 6GB). Unless you have many multisample programs, this would probably be enough storage for most situation. Much faster loading and saving than a zip.

But the Akai site says:

18. What is the maximum capacity of a SCSI hard drive the MPC2000XL can support?
A: The MPC2000XL will support hard drives less than 26 GB.

So, TUTOR, my ? is have you had trouble with bigger drives than 4.5GB, or was that the biggest you've bothered testing?

No its just my FAQ needs updating, as Akai recently verified that 1.14 OS can handle these larger disk sizes. Before that, they always stated 4.5GB.

I cannot verify that a 26GB works - but I am sure it will if Akai say so.
