my mpc tryna kill me?!?!?

Ohhh Man... Somethings wrong. I was moving my MPC2000xl from my bedroom, downstairs, so I unplug the plug from the socket. so i pick up the mpc and start walkin, then the plug is draggin behind so i pick it up, and the shits still connected to the mpc on the other end, and i touched the metal things on the plug socket and got this nasty ass shock. It **** hurt man, And the craziest shit is.. it aint even plugged into nothin. So i thought itwas just a one off thing yknow, so i touched it again and got another shock, (that shit hurts) so i go downstairs with all the shit, and do it again and its still shocking me! WTF is goin on.. I *think* its only when my other hand is touching the mpc's case. But im too much of a p***y to do some tests. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my mpc.... im scared to plug it in now

I know capacitors can store a charge (sometimes lethal, like in TV's)

for a while after they've been shut off. Depends on the cap.

I imagine this is what happened to you, you formed a path to ground and the voltage left in the caps ran across.

Wait a while (maybe a day and try it, it shouldn't happen.

hey just got me a brand new 2nd hand mpc2000xl with mfc etc etc.
this happened to me while i was setting it up and changing some scsi. the lead was in the wall socket with mine though, still i was kinda worried about how this could happen?

most likly static electrictiy. Touch somehting metal before u touch the mpc.

that shit hurt tho man, It was when i touched the metal things that stick out of the plug. but i think it was only when i touched the bottom right one, (in the uk we have 3 metal things on plugs)

but yo you sayin it could be lethal wtf?
