any way of stopping the pads from overlapping?

i kno this may sound like a wierd question,but i have tried to seach and found nothing.

maybe because im putting the wrong definitions into the search box.

sorry if this is a repost

but is there a way of stopping the pad sounds from overlapping.

like when i load up a sound by pressing the pads,if i press the same pad like neumerous times the sound just keeps overlapping each other.kind of like an echo if you know what i mean?

if you do know what im on about lol
does anybody have any guidance?

Go to program, highlight POLY on the bottom right side, turn the wheel until says MONO.

Then everytime you hit the pad it will start at the beginning of the sound instead of overlapping.

You can also highlight the note off field and hit open window. there you can set certain notes to cutoff other notes.
