Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By ANDINO Fri Jan 21, 2005 9:33 pm
:?: I have a 2000xl and 4 sound modules, I currently have 2 hooked up since it only has 2 A/B midi outs but I would like to have all 4 hooked up at the same time. This would be more convenient so I won’t have to switch midi cables all the time. Do any one know a method or know what else I need to solve my problem. Could anyone provide me with any tips? Thanks

Use the MIDI thru on your racks and mute the neccary midi channels on your racks that arent being used

Its always goot to leave a MIDI port free for multi track so i would put all the racks on one MIDI port

Lets say u use MIDI port A

MPC OUT to rack 1 MIDI in,
use channel 1-4 mute the rest on that rack and mute the rest

Rack1 MIDI THRU TO Rack 2 MIDI IN
Rack 2 MIDI channel 4-8 mute the rest

etc.. etc...

So u will have it that each rack has its own 4 channels on your MPCs MIDI A port.
