I an new to MPC;s, but I've had my Mac, digi002, and Motif ES for a while.
I first want to make sure I got things setup preperly...then want to see if there is a better way to make sure I can do what i want.
Ok, so here is how I have it now:
MPC MIDI in/out connected to digi002
Motif ES and MIDI Controller (HUI) connected to 2X2 MIDI Interface
MPC is set to MIDI TIME CODE, Rate 30 and MMC is ON for IN and OUT
In Pro-Tools:PERIPHERALS:SYNCHRONIZATION: Device:Generic MTC Reader: MPC, Port 1; Minimum Sync Delay 40; MMC control is ENABLED, ID 127.
In Pro-Tools:PERIPHERALS:SYNCHRONIZATION:MACHINE CONTROL:Nothing is ENABLED.
(Actually, I read that this is where it needs to be enabled and NOT in the SYNCHRONIZATION Section, but if I do it that way when I press Play/Stop/Go To Start on the MPC it doesn't respond unless I have it THIS way).
In Pro-Tools:Preferences:MIDI:(not sure if anything needs to be set here?)
In Pro-Tools:Preferences:Machine Control:(not sure if anything needs to be set here?)
In Pro-Tools:WINDOWS:Session Setup:MTC To Port:MPC, Port 1
In Pro-Tools:WINDOWS:Session Setup:Timecode Rate:30
In Pro-Tools:MIDI:MIDI Beat Clock: All are enabled, except MPC, Port 1 --I read to do this in some forum and it seems to work...not not sure if I need this to accomplish what i have written below.

So, basically I want to make sure this is all setup properly and when I record the timing is consistent.
I also want to make sure that when I edit MIDI date in Pro-Tools that is reflects in th MPC, when I record...
And, I want to make certain that if I am working on the MPC that I can hit Play/Stop/Go To Start ..etc and have that reflect in Pro-Tools --BUT THIS ISN'T MANDATORY, IF IT WILL OFFSET SOMEHOW MY SYNC QUALITY OR SOMETHING ELSE.
LASTLY, I just want to make sure that nothing in my MOTIF ES Keyboard gets messed up... Would I need to change my my prefences or MIDI setup to switch between MOTIF and MPC, when I am working on each?
