I basically want to see if it's possible to (for example) set up a PT session liek this:
Record the sounds on disk that I have for the MPC2000XL on one track...also record from the Motif ES.
I want to REC the MIDI from each device. Not sure if recording the MPC MIDI data on one track 9omni) is a "trick" you'd suggest... let me know what IS BEST, please.
I want to be able to change the MIDI notes...etc in PT and have that reflect in the playback/or Re-Recording the Audio form the MIDI source.
I also want to use the MPC as the Master of the MOTIF (at times), especially for the drum tracks and percussive sounds... not sure if you recommend this?
It's hell trying to figure out the Periph and Midi setting in PT and the 2 devices...please help in this way!
Also...since the MPC has 2 MIDI i/o... i read that you can connect MIDI cables direct from MPC:MOTIF to slave the MOTIF... but then how do you connect that info to the computer and ProTools? What's the Audio MIDI Setup look like? Do I need to create a second port in the MPC icon there?
