Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi Ive recently brought a cd rom drive for my mpc 2000 the main reason for buying this was to make my own samples on sound forge burn them to cd and load em back on to the mpc
the only problem is is getting the mpc to read the cd is there anything im doin wrong as other cds work but mine alas do not please help

I dont know what software you are using to burn the CD but..

Are you burning a Data CD or a Audio CD?
If Data..then make sure its Normal CD-ROM(ISO) Data Structure. no UDF or stuff like that or CD-RW's
And also the MPC cannot read Multi-Sessions either. So Dont use a CD-R thats been used before.

If Audio then it dont read normal audio either.

If youre using a 2000 classic then you won't be able to read iso formatted data cdrom sad but true. The 2000 classic only reads akai formatted cdrom. If you do a search in the 2kxl forum you might come up with more info on this and how to make your own akai formatted cdroms.
