Storage and loop questions for 2000xl

Hey everybody, I don't have an MPC, but I just saved up enough money to get one so I'm a bit anxious.

Anyways, I wanna do techno and live electronic like Underworld (mixing loops and stuff). I have a Motif as well, so I have a sound bank ready for the MPC.

I know Underworld uses (or used to use, before they went to Logic), Akai S5000 samplers too. How much could I do with the 2kXL's 32mb and would I need to upgrade it soon? Can I just use it to sequence the Motif (and in that case, would I need a lot of memory?)

Doesn't the Motif have a sampler?

You should be fine.

With the Motif alone you should be fine.

The Motif along w/ 2kxl you should be fine also.

Maximize the 2kxl RAM to 32mb.

I've never come anywhere close to using the 32mb. It's going to depend on the size your loops. But if you same in mono, you get double the sample time and use less memory. You should be fine.

I'm mazed out my RAM plenty of times but when I never use every single sound in memory, I just populate the whole 32mb and choose what I want.
