Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ok, so I got an Ensoniq MR Rack today and been having a great time experimenting with the awseome sounds this unit makes (got the EXP3 card fitted).

I have my MPC synced to protools (in and out) on the primary (A) MIDI channels, and the ensoniq running from MIDI out B.

I know that I can select one of the 16 midi channels from my MPC to the ensoniq, and can create different instruments on the ensoniq and assign them to the different channels.

Only problem is in that case, my sounds get lost when I switch of the ensoniq....

I know that with MIDI it's possible to make program number or exlusive messages which should do the trick.. only problem is how do I program these into my sequences?

Anyone know? Is this possible? Or should I be saving my patches on the ensoniq some how?

TIA

the last part is correct.

Save your PROGRAM or PATCHES on the Esoniq. also remember to LABEL your sounds that u use on the esoniq on the MPC so you know how to find them quicker.
