Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

If so how do u map out a sound (like a bass or string note or something) to a midi keyboard, to where I can play it as a patch. Do I have to sample/edit the sound before loading it into the mpc?

After doing so would the mpc recognize pitch bend events, velocity settings, etc.

Basically saying I wanna use the MP as a Sound module.

The MPC will not recognize pitchbend events sent by a midi keyboard. It can not map a sample out on a keyboard like you can do with a conventional sampler. You need to assign the sample to each note in the range you want to play (ie. make copies of the same sound) and tune each individual copy so you get an octave of the sample you play with a keyboard (you can max map out 2 octaves of a sample usign this technique on the MPC). Why don't you download a copy of the manual from the akai site so you can check for yourself what the mpc is capable of doing ?

well I didnt think the manual would have anything about multi sampling.

Good lookin tho, that makes since.

THE 4000 is best for this operation anyway,(as im reading)
