O.S. problems on the mpc 2000xl

I recently tried to update from version 1.14 to 1.20 on my mpc 2000xl. I downloaded the file in winzip and tried to load the MPC 2000XL.bin file into the mpc and got nothing. The screen just reads loading MPC2XL.BIN and thats it. I tried several new floppy disk and still no luck. Any suggestions?

did you format the floppy? i upgraded to 1.20 on sat and this is what i did:

formatted floppy as FAT (i use windows xp)
unzipped the bin file and copied to floppy

this worked first time for me so apologies but i can't suggest any more help than that...good luck though!

Why? Unless you are installing an ATAPI reader in the MPC, there is no need (there is a risk of damaging the MPC by updating the OS and it failing).
